Environmentally Friendly Tourism in Liverpool

Over the last few years, awareness of the human affect on the environment and the world we live in has risen significantly. Alongside this awareness, has come a desire for change and to be more environmentally friendly.

People want to take part in sustainable action and are more conscious of the environmental impact that not only day-to-day activities have, but their short-breaks and holidays do too.

In Liverpool, there are hotels, restaurants, bars and attractions taking steps to be more sustainable and futureproof the tourism industry.

For those visiting Liverpool, here's some top tips on being more green to get started:

  • Liverpool city centre is compact and walkable, the Liverpool Arena is a 20 minute walk from the main station, Liverpool Lime Street. You can walk from one end of the city to the other in 30 minutes
  • Liverpool City Region is connected by a vast transport network including the Merseyrail, connecting visitors to Liverpool Airport, Chester, Wirral, Southport and other areas of the region. Arriva and Stagecoach operate buses across Liverpool City Region and beyond for a just £2 per single journey for an adult
  • Throughout the city centre are Voi, electronic scooters and bikes for a quick and environmentally friendly way to get around the city
