Marking the Liverpool ’08 Capital of Culture this year’s event celebrates the brewing side of the city’s history. We very much hope that Cain's Brewery, Liverpool's largest brewer, will be supporting the event and their beers will feature prominently. But the growing band of smaller brewers who are helping to maintain and indeed grow our city's reputation for fine ales and lagers will be well represented too, with, amongst others, Higsons and Wapping offering contenders for the festival's favorite ale!We have fantastic musical entertainment from the region, with bands such as The Lefthookers who delighted the crowds last year with their musicianship, delivering faithful renditions of classics from "Stairway to Heaven" and "Mustang Sally" to "Free Bird" and many more.Liverpool Fringe will be organising a number of events throughout August to identify the City's leading up and coming bands with a number featuring in this year's festival. If your focus is more on the beer, there will be a quiet session during the early part of Saturday afternoon. There'll be food available at each session.
