The region's largest multicultural parade sees the final part of our four-year carnival arts programme 'Crossing Waters', depicting the story of Liverpool's participation in the transatlantic slave trade. More information

16 June - 26 Aug 08. Up to 100 Superlambananas, one of Liverpool's most iconic and best-loved pieces of public art - originally, created by Taro Chiezo for Arts Transpennine in 1998-will be painted, decorated and adorned by local and regional artists, community groups and celebrities. Liverpool Young Culture Action Group will be presenting a Community Showcase Day in St Georges Hall on Sunday, August 10th, 11.30- 4pm. More information
26th July: Involve around 400 young people from across Sefton. The opera tells the story of the villagers of Itoku and their journey into slavery from Benin to Liverpool, which is a mixture of music, dance and drama. More information
6-7th Sept 08: Southport Airshow is recognised as the North West's largest Airshow and this fantastic family event attracts up to 150,000 spectators over two days. More information
3-5th Oct 08: The event is one of Southport's most spectacular, a competition providing a visual feast of entertainment for thousands of spectators over one weekend. More information
13-14th Sept 08: Truckfest North West mixes live action entertainment with displays featuring hundreds of incredible vehicles, famous celebrity guests and much more. More information
