Wirral has plenty to offer sports lovers too. The Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake had the honour of playing host to the famous Open Championship in 2006 and
of course Wirral is home to its very own football league club, Tranmere Rovers.

As Wirral is surrounded by water, there are plenty of off-land events on offer too. This year, for instance, Hoylake will
host the European Sand Yachting Championships for the very first time.

If you fancy getting active yourself, why not try your hand at some water sports at one of the seven sailing clubs or
windsurfing at West Kirby Marine Lake perhaps? The choice is yours!
