At the Everyman, the in-house programme centres on new writing, primarily that emerging from an extraordinary new generation of playwriting talent in the city. We often work in collaboration with colleagues around the country, and our recent productions of new plays have involved transfers to, and co-productions with, Hampstead Theatre, the Traverse, the Royal Court and shortly the Rose Theatre, Kingston.
At the Playhouse, the focus is on bold, theatrical productions which bring classic plays to vivid life. Recent examples include the joyous and hugely acclaimed new version by Roger McGough of Moliere’s Tartuffe and the brand-new musical Once Upon A Time At The Adelphi.
Everyman - If you're traveling from outside the city follow the brown signage for the Cathedrals. The Everyman is positioned between the two cathedrals on Hope Street, nearest to the Metropolitan cathedral. Parking is located behind the new Liverpool Science Park in front of the Metropolitan Cathedral and costs £1.50 after 6pm Monday to Saturday and for Saturday Matinees, with tickets available only from the box office.
Playhouse - If you're traveling from outside the city, follow signage for Queen’s Square or St John's Car Parks to reach the Playhouse. Playhouse patrons are entitled to a reduction at St Johns Car Parks - £2 after 5pm on production of your theatre ticket.
Everyman - Central Station, which serves the Merseyrail network, is a 10-15 minute walk up Mount Pleasant to the Everyman. Lime Street Station (Liverpool's main rail station) is 10 minutes from the Everyman.
The Everyman is also served by many buses using Hope Street, Brownlow Hill and Mount Pleasant.
Playhouse - Both Central Station, which serves the Merseyrail network, and Lime Street Station (Liverpool's main rail station) are 5 minutes walk to the Playhouse.
