With the Liverpool City Region proving such a popular location for conferences and events, expansion has become inevitable. Already, Merseyside has the UK's largest concentration of Meeting Industry Association accredited venues, but by 2008, two new developments will have confirmed the area's commitment to providing cutting-edge conferencing centres to augment the existing venues and offer specific services to further enhance the city's conferencing portfolio.

Situated in a prime location on the waterfront, this stunning new venue has been designed with versatility, convenience and technology as priorities. Conferences and events of any size can be arranged thanks to the ingenious system of partitioning that can be put into effect in minutes to maximise the possibilities of any gathering. The floor space of over 7000 square metres makes the venue significant and rare in city centre conferencing.

No matter what the size of the space required, all delegates will be able to take advantage of high-speed internet and wireless networking facilities, and digital audio visual facilities make sure you get your message across with clarity and impact.

The ACCL also has its own parking facilities for 1600 cars and has an on-site hotel complex with over 450 rooms. Its city centre location makes it possible to reach on foot from Lime Street Station, although buses and taxis are ever on hand. With a £40 million investment programme putting the Southport Theatre and Convention Centre firmly on the list of top grade conferencing and exhibition venues, it's no surprise that interest has come from all sectors. The resort of Southport is situated just to the north of Liverpool and is the home town of choice for many an entrepreneur, sporting star and celebrity, yet keeps its feet on the ground thanks to its heritage and community. The STCC is a conferencing gem with a built-in hotel, and is located right on the promenade, ideally situated for the local restaurants, shops and hotels, not to mention the superb golfing facilities.

Flexibility is par for the course in modern venues, and the STCC has used the experience of other centres to ensure that conferences of any size can be hosted successfully. The centre also boasts a tiered 1631-seat auditorium, which creates an intimate atmosphere for those on the stage to communicate. Two 1000 square metre halls can be used in full or subdivided to maximise effectiveness and minimise costs.
